Oregon Registered Agent

A local Oregon registered agent is required when forming a business in Oregon.

What is an Oregon registered agent?

An Oregon registered agent can be either another business or an adult living in Oregon. Businesses registering in Oregon list the name and address of the registered agent on their corporate paperwork, and that person or organization will be responsible for accepting legal notices on behalf of the business. Oregon registered agents must have a real physical location in Oregon and be present at that address during normal business hours. Although most of the time a sheriff or process server will be delivering a court notice to the Oregon resident agent’s address, mailing a certified letter to the person or business listed as the Oregon registered agent at the registered office address is legal proof that you have been notified, regardless of whether or not your registered agent forwarded it to you.

The Oregon registered agent’s duty is to be available at the business address listed as the CO registered office address during normal business hours. Mail from the State of Oregon to the business will be sent to the Oregon resident agent’s address.
